Banking and Financial Services Litigation
We have a substantial amount of experience of banking and financial services litigation. Our lawyers have extensive experience of acting on behalf of banks and other major financial institutions which has been gained principally while at their previous firms. However, we are now more commonly instructed to act against banks and institutions, often where the larger firms are conflicted.
Our experience in this field includes the following:
- Representing a client in a dispute with the Royal Bank of Scotland arising out of an interest-rate swap agreement
- Advising the former shareholders and undated bondholders in relation to potential claims arising out of the nationalisation of Bradford & Bingley and their respective rights under the Compensation Order
- Acting for a company in proceedings against a UK clearing bank for breaches of a series of loan agreements
- Advising an oversees fund in relation to recovering monies allegedly misappropriated by a UK based individual
- Acting on behalf of an individual in relation to a dispute arising out of a proposed private equity fund
- Acting on behalf of a US investment bank in relation to a claim under an ISDA swap agreement
- Advising a liquidator of a BVI based fund in relation to the potential liability of a number of banks acting as custodians
