Professional Negligence
We have a significant amount of experience of acting for and against professionals in substantial disputes. In particular, Charles Fussell was involved in a number of high profile auditors’ negligence cases whilst at Herbert Smith, including Equitable Life’s claim against Ernst & Young.
More recently we have acted against solicitors and accountants in relation to claims for professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
Specific examples of our recent matters include:
- Acting for a NASDAQ quoted company in a professional negligence claim against a London law firm arising out of an aborted float on the Alternative Investment Market
- Representing the former chairman and major shareholders of Queen’s Park Rangers football club in a substantial professional negligence action against a firm of solicitors
- Acting on behalf of an individual in a claim for negligence and breach of fiduciary duty against a firm of accountants
- Acting on behalf of three individuals in relation to a claim for professional negligence against their former solicitors arising out of the alleged mishandling of their defence to a substantial claim
